A fine example of this 1984 Newbery Medal-winning book. Dear Mr. Henshaw was the Newbery Medal book of 1984. It has seen hundreds of subsequent printings and is still taught in classrooms today. In a 2007 online teachers' poll, Dear Mr. Henshaw was listed as one of the "Teachers' Top 100 Books for Children." The illustrator for this book, Paul O. Zelinsky, won the Caldecott Medal in 1998 for Rapunzel.
