About This Item

London: Published for the Crime Club by Collins, 1942. First Edition. Hardcover. Dust Jacket Included. London, Published for the Crime Club by Collins, 1942. Octavo, 320 pages. Orange cloth lettered in black on the spine; tiny light mark to the leading edge; vertical crease to the last leaf and rear flyleaf (in line with, and probably caused by, the end of the dustwrapper flap); a near-fine copy with the dustwrapper a little creased and bumped, with a few tiny tears to the head of the spine (and one to the front panel). The dustwrapper is unclipped but unpriced, indicating it is the Colonial Edition issue; the small ticket on the front pastedown of the contemporary Adelaide booksellers, F.W. Preece Ltd, proves the point.
