Personally, one of the most horrifying stories I have ever read. I was just four years older than he at the time, having just graduated from Grade 12 in Ohio. I am humbled by the courage and strength of Emmett's mother, Mrs.Mamie Bradley, who insisted that the body be shipped back to Chicago and be displayed in the open casket at the funeral. 193 pp..
