Frontispiece and 4 illustrations. Calligraphy by Lance Hidy. Original publisher's black cloth grey paper label on spine lettered white grey dust jacket lettered in white and black. In the foreword Fry states that this was the second of three lectures given in Chichester Cathedral under the general title of, 'Our Basic Concerns', during November 1977. Autographed signed letter loosely inserted written on headed notepaper from 'The Tofts, East Dean, Chichester, Sussex PO18 OJA and dated September 30. 1989 from the author to Roger Greenacre consisting of about 75 words in which he says he was delighted to get the copy of your address this morning. He goes on to say 'I wondered whether you might like this illustrated version of the talk I gave in Chichester Cathedral in 1977, with a changed title, as the simple one, Death, was thought to be uninviting to the reader!' Ownership inscription, dated Sept. '89, of Revd Canon Dr Roger Greenacre (1930 2011) who was a residentiary canon of Chichester Cathedral for 25 years, from 1975 to 2000. Prior to that he was chaplain of St George's Paris, and from 2000 to 2010 was priest-in-charge of St Michael's Beaulieu-sur-mer. Some edgewear to dustjacket, otherwise very good. 0930954122
