Wonderful tales and the author's wise understanding of human nature have made these one of the world's most famous collections of short stories of love, intrigue, humor and good counsel. Written asround 1350 when the Black Death ravaged Florence. He tells of ten young people of Florence who flee to escape the plague and spend their time in luxurious villas. Each agrees to tell a tale a day for ten days; the result is 100 stories.
