First edition, 4to, vi, [2], [7]-332, [2]pp., with 85 lithographed plates of which 30 are hand coloured, each of the grain and marble plates touched with gum arabic, some occasional light foxing, front inner hinge shaken, contemporary calf, rubbed, crude cloth reback. Influential work on the practices of interior decoration and including instructions on artificial wood and marble paint finishes, mural painting, stained and painted glass etc. Provenance: With the red morocco bookplate lettered in gilt of 'John Gosling 1832'.
