First UK edition. A speculative fiction novel by American writer John Crowley, who described it as being "based quite closely on events in the English Wars of the Roses". The Deep was Crowley's debut novel. The UK edition of the novel is scarce, with an attractive alternative dust wrapper treatment and peculiar sizing.
