About This Item

London: John Lane, The Bodley Head, 1942. . 8vo, bright apple-green cloth; dust jacket with minor loss over corners Frances Mundy-Castle used the pseudonym Peggy Whitehouse. The author attribution was made by Anne Powell, editor of the anthology 'Shadows of War," 1999 in which she reprints two selections from this work. The dust jacket is printed on the verso of a previously printed jacket for another Bodley Head title that was not used and reflects the stringent war restrictions on the printing trade of the period
