Original blue cloth hard covers, with gilt titles to spine, in unclipped dust jacket. Jacket worn, with some corner loss and splitting along folds, and very toned to spine and edges, with corresponding, lighter toning to boards. Jacket now neat in archival mylar sleeve. Edges toned. SIGNED by author on title-page. Other wise internally clean, tight and unmarked. A sound copy of a scarce book, especially signed and with any jacket. With four-page introduction by John Buchan (Blanchard supplement C82a). Illustrated -- eight plates, including portrait frontispiece with tissue-guard. xvi,303pp..
