Poems.Presentation copy from the author, inscribed by him on the front free endpaper: ''For Sally - Deep in Wild, with beats one meets usually in dreams. x Michael - 14.1.72''. The recipient is his fellow poet Sally Purcell a few of whose titles he published under his Carcanet imprint. Loosely inserted is a Typed Letter Signed by Michael Schmidt, on PN Review headed notepaper and dated 20th October 1981: about 400 words to Sally Purcell largely discussing a projected translation of the works of Du Bellay. Also loosely inserted is a Carcanet Press compliments card with notes to Sally Purcell written by a Carcanet employee.Some light spotting to edges and prelims. Very good in very good dustwrapper slightly rubbed at the edges.
