[5], v-xvi, [2], 3-43, [3] pp. Quarter brown cloth over brown paper boards with black lettering and a decoration on the front board. Price of Fifty Cents net on the front panel of the jacket. With an introduciton by John T. McCutcheon. The first separate edition of this publication. A short story based on a young American soldier's attempt to flee from his posting in the First World War. Witnessed by the author and McCutcheon himself, Davis' story paints the harsh reality of how life in the trenches affected the soldiers who were there. Minor offsetting to the endpapers; jacket is Very Good with some edge wear and rubbing.
