First edition of this illustrated "first definitive study of the detective in motion pictures," with heavy emphasis on Sherlock Holmes. 10/75'' x 8.5''. Original dark blue cloth. In original unclipped ($9.95) dust jacket designed by Nick Frank. 247, [1] pages. Black and white illustrations throughout. Though no provenance markings, this copy from the library of noted actor and Sherlockian Curtis Armstrong. A bit of bumping to boards. Jacket with some chipping to spine, moderate rubbing. A few minor spots of dampstaining to jacket verso, not visible on recto.
