Brown cloth spine over greenish gray boards, stamped in purple to the front board and spine. A sharpie mark to the front free endpaper, bleeding through to the following endpaper. A bookseller ticket from Brentano's in Washington, D.C. to the rear pastedown, with the number 6623 written above, underneath the rear flap. A chip to the corner of the rear free endpaper. Topstain still solid. The dust jacket has shallow chipping to the spine and rear panel, and a chip to the bottom corner. Publisher's price of $3.00 on the front flap. Translated from the German by Huntley Paterson. Book and dust jacket design by W. A. Dwiggins.; 368 pages .
