Slight creasing to edges of dustwrapper, minor bumping to ends of dark red spine and corners of blue boards, otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover historical novel. Originally published in 1962, this is a book club edition from the next year. Set in England and Virginia in the first half of the eighteenth century, the story deals with James, Earl of Derwentwater and his brother Charles who were both executed for their part in the Jacobite Rising; and with Charles's daughter Jenny who went to live in Virginia. 506pp, family tree on front endpapers and 2 maps at the rear.. Book Club (BCE/BOMC). Hard Cover. Good/Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
