Includes his "Lysis, or Friendship" which explores aspects of friendship, "Symposium," an imagined banquet featuring speeches by notables such as Socrates and Aristophanes, and "Phaedrus," about both love and aspects of the use of rhetoric. Translated from the Greek and with introductory analyses by Benjamin Jowett. With a preface by Whitney J. Oates, and with line drawings by Eugene Karlin in the classical style. Sandglass leaflet laid in (NY, no. VII: 33). --- Bound in marble-look paper-covered boards, backed in light brown cloth with gilt titling and decorations on brown spine blocks.
