Book Condition: Very Good +; light bumping to head and tail. DJ: Very Good; light bumping to top edge; light soiling to panels. Maroon boards and spine with gilt lettering on the spine with gilt barbed wire decorations. 190 pp 8vo. The Adventurers Club was a book publisher that published 11 books between 1940 and 1967 on people who ventured into dangerous locations and occupations. This book is about a London policeman who established a security operation at the Williamson Diamond Mine in Mwadui, Tanganyika and worked with the Canadian geologist, Dr. John Williamson. This is actually a portrait of two men- Burgess and Williamson and how order was brought out of chaos. This a picture of an extradinary man in extraordinary circumstances. A clean very presentable copy.
