Leipzig: Tauchnitz, 1877. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Copyright Edition. Two volumes uniformly bound in black leather over red marbled boards; raised bands, elaborate gilt decorations and red leather title labels on spines; turquoise endpapers. Corners scuffed, recent pictorial bookplate on front free endpaper, with older bookplate on verso, a little foxing, very good. Todd [1699/1700]. First/only issues; series half-title bound in. Dixon was principally a journalist and historian, but produced two novels -- of which this is the first -- in the last few years of his life..
