This is a one-volume abridgement also includes additional previously unpublished extracts from his letters and diaries. Indexed. First edition thus. Brown cloth with rose gilt titles to spine and blind impressed titles to front is very clean and neat. Some foxing to closed page edges. Dust jacket is lightly tanned with some edge wear including scuffs and chips to head of dust jacket spine. Not price clipped. Text is clean. Binding is sound. Very good copy in good dust jacket . Hardback. First Thus. 1980.
