Large folding map with some small loss repaired along most folds, black and white photographic and line illustrations, xx + 413pp, index, appendices include vocabularies for Salar and San-Ch'uan T'u-jen as well as a short article on Central Tibet Plants by W. Botting Hemsley. Bound in maroon cloth with leather spine original upper wrapper bound in. Some light browning throughout but overall a very good and clean copy. "Narrative of the author's second journey through Mongolia and Tibet, which was described i[n] diary form. He started from Peking on Nov. 30, 1891 and travelled northwards to Hwang-ho via Kalgan, thence to Lan-cho, Sining-fu, Kumbum Monastery, Tsaidam, Changtang, Tangla Range, Chamdo and Batang. R150.
