Washington, D.C.: W.F. Roberts, Smithsonian Institution, 1894. Hardcover. Octavo, xx, 413 pages. In Very Good Minus condition with a Very Good map. Fully bound in publishers green cloth. Spine green with gilt lettering. Light shelfwear and soiling, corners bumped and show wear. Edges of pages chipped throughout. Watermarks to corners of several plates, text pages unaffected. Textblock shaken, binding loose in several places. Plate page between pgs 148 and 149 loose. Includes letter correspondence between "Mark" and "Estelle" from 1970, relevance unclear, possibly a previous owner. Inscribed by Rockhill on title page. Shelved case 9. William Woodville Rockhill was a United States diplomat and author of the U.S.'s Open Door Policy for China. 1377752. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
