Saint Paul: Self published, 1905. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Octavo. xxxi, 122 pages, [3]. Frontispiece portrait of Washburn dated 1869. Illustrated with photographs, sketches and maps. Dark blue cloth hardcover with gilt stamped title and light brown illustration on the front cover. Gilt lettered title on the spine. Gilt top edge. Beveled board edges. Contents include photographs of James Bridger, George Bird Grinnell, Hiram Chittenden and many others. The last three sheets are facsimiles of original sketches of Yellowstone. There is NO rubber stamp of the publisher "J. E. Haynes. Selby At Virginia" below the author's name on the title page. Copyrighted 1905 by the author printed on the verso of the title page. A few small rubbed spots to the cloth binding. Light edge wear to the cloth extremities. Light toning to the end papers. A small blacked out spot on the blank recto of the frontispiece.
