About This Item
Lowell, Mass. and Boston: Merrill & Heywood and Phillips & Sampson, 1847. Fourth Edition. Softcover. Good. ...with their accentuation, and the orthography conformable to that practiced by the most approved modern authors.
Miniature, 3 x 2 inches, 564pp. Engraved frontispiece of a heavenly Shakespeare and vignette on the last page that appears to be Othello, both borrowed from the illustrated edition of "Sharpe's". All edges gilt. Originally a wraparound wallet binding, the flap is no longer present, though the loop remains on the cover. About a quarter inch of chipping at both spine ends, general rubbing, but bright and clean contents. Good overall. Taken from the London edition of "Sharpe's Diamond Dictionary," OCLC records only 2 copies of this title (1845) and none of this edition. Housed in archival mylar jacket.
