About This Item
N G Sendingpers, Bloemfontein (printer), 1955. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 784 pages (complete). In Afrikaans throughout of this particularly individualistic history of Smithfield and the Caledon District. Prinsloo was a teacher and noted the copyright thus: "Alle regte van elke bladsy streng voorbehou" [The rights to every page is strongly held]. [There may be things that seem very personal, but this is what daily life was and how the people traded and walked, people who one would never have heard of otherwise. If some people take exception, then so be it, as remember you are have the happenings of 133 years in one book ...]". Prinsloo goes on to assure the reader that the book has some humour, especially if detected between the lines. A stout copy and pleasing copy. The green boards have some scuffing, storage marks, shelving wear. They are healthy and steady. The contents are most pleasing. They are very clean, clear, confident, diligent, energetic, human. No inscriptions. Tightly bound. r*13/12/2021. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
