About This Item
Hamburg: Der Grüne Zweig 98, 1985. First edition. 4to, 258 pp, bound in wraps illustrated by Mali & Werner. Text mostly in German.
The first edition of the first volume of the Chaos Computer Club's landmark hacking compendium - one of the most important of the early hacker books. A second volume, in a somewhat different format, was published three years later. Since its formation in 1981, the CCC has become the largest hacking organization in Europe and a a prominent force defending human rights in the digital age.
The Bible is a hefty compendium of newsclippings and articles, alongside reproductions of the CCC's newsletter, Datenschleuder, as well as other hacking zines such as YIPL and Hackerpost.
Very good with some light toning and a touch of rubbing to margins.
