Some light soiling and speckling to cloth, spine lettering a bit dull, margins of plates and facing pages foxed (not affecting maps.) FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION INSCRIPTION SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, on the front free endpaper. It reads: "To Drs. Shamrock and Richard Pearse, with sincere regards, John Tate Lanning."
