Limited edition of 975 copies. cvi, 182 pages with Appendices and Index; illustrated with engraved frontis portrait, two folding map and facsimile plate of the original title page. This the fifth publication of the Argonaut Press is letter press printed on Japon vellum, with original color woodcut on title page by William Monk. "This is Ralegh's account of his 1595 expedition to the Orinoco delta and along the northern coast of South America. Harlow's extensive introduction sheds new light on Ralegh and shows, among other things, that his privateering activities were based on commercial considerations.
