About This Item

VIII, frontispiece, 224 pages, last page blank, illustrated with eight pages of black-and-white photographs. Photographic illustrated dust jacket. Slight darkening of the top and front edges of the text block. This book tells of stirring political activities in the early 30s in the state of New South Wales culminating on May 13, 1932 in the dismissal of Mr J. T. Lang as Premier by the Governor, Sir Philip game. Although a number of legal treatises on the subject have been published, this is the first dispassionate account of what it was like to be living near the centre of activities at that very trying time. As the author's father was Secretary to the Governor, she was very close to government house at the time but her account encompasses much more than merely a "view from Government House". Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Dust Jacket price-clipped. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Photographic. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo.
