Amsterdam, Netherlands: Uitgeverij Contact, 1952. Small (19 x 12 cm) glossy laminated paperback with stiffened covers, 96 pages including many black-and-white photographs of which many appear to be early 1950s postwar reconstruction progress and the bustling port;--- text in Dutch;---very gently used, tight in binding, light bumping around bottom of spine with some creasing to covers, but hardly a trace of shelf wear, front cover bright, clean and colourful in green with yellow and white lettering framing a photo of the port, tiny bookplate inside front cover designed by previous owner (Dutch-Canadian silhouette artist and graphic designer Hans-Detlev Voss who still lived and worked in The Netherlands during the 1930s/1940s) and his tiny ink numeral inside back cover, gift inscription or statement of ownership in ink on free front endpaper, otherwise very clean and unmarked throughout, pages fresh and white..
