About This Item

Los Angeles: Fantasy Publishing Company Inc. ( FPCI), 1952. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Poor. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition first printing, hardback book is tight clean and square. Boards clean with slightly softened corners. Text block clean, with toning to edges. There is a previous owners neat name in black ink to the FEP. Feels carefully read. Near Fine condition. Alas, the price-clipped jacket grades as poor as it has large losses and rubbing to the spine and front panel. With smaller losses to the joint ends. The colours are still bold. The rear cover has a thumb sized loss to the top edge and some minor marking. Signed and dedicated by author to limitation page. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a quality addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A nice example of this book in a poor jacket, in first printing state. This copy is one of the 500 limited edition examples this being numbered 88/500. It is signed and dedicated by the author: "Best regards to Alexis Gilliland / L Sprague de Camp" Alexis Gilliland is an American science fiction writer and cartoonist, and won the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 1982, four Hugos. Contains the stories Divide and Rule and The Stolen Doormouse. A great association copy that comes from the estate of Roger Earnshaw, SF collector, well known at British conventions and fandom.
