About This Item
London: Faber and Faber, 1964. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo., 287pp.. Sharp First Edition of this historical novel about Roger Bacon. Bound in maroon cloth with titles in gilt. Square, tight and clean throughout with quite gentle bumping to spine ends. No foxing or toning. Very attractive unclipped dust-jacket, (25s net), has some toning and light soiling. Almost appears that a layer of cellophane was applied which has toned to just over the flap as both flaps are much lighter, though likely just the material used by the printer. Solid and complete with no chipping, creases or tears. A nice collectable copy at a great price.
