Revell- New York-Chicago-Toronto- 1906- 1st Edition-1st Printing- Hardcover:-8vo- Good/ no jacket- original mustard green cloth with black illustration and white titles-spine faded with rubs and 1/4 inch nick on crown- otherwise clean and tight- although an ex-library book, the Buffalo Library did not put pockets on gift books from estates- bookplate from Buffalo-Grosvenor library with 'presented by Glenny Estate' inscribed-- Most of these books were donated by W. H. Glenny and came from his estate- Initialed WHG- Christmas 1906- William H. Glenny was born in Ireland and came to Buffalo in 1836 as a clerk in a bookstore. He opened his own crockery store which, at the time of his death, was one of the largest businesses in the country, with branches extending to all the Western states and Territories. He was also associated with banking and a railroad company. His son (also William H. Glenny) served as trustee of Forest Lawn Cemetery from 1890 to 1929 and was Vice President from 1904-1929.- 399pp are clean no writing or tears- stamp at rear with number- SEE PHOTOS- The story of two brothers fighting for the love of the same woman, a struggle which nearly ruins their friendship. One brother leaves to become a doctor, while the other becomes a minister, and both end up in the Rockies.
