About This Item

Signet, 1951-01-01. First Edition. Paperback. Very Good+/in pictorial wraps. Softcover, Stated First Printing 1951 Signet (#871) 144 pages. Very Good+, In pictorial wraps. Just a hint of shelf/edge wear to covers, only flaw is the rear panel has a faint, small crease. Binding is tight, appears unread. Blackie Pride was a tough guy (a 15-year-old Atlanta juvenile delinquent in the 1930s) in a tough slum world. When he ran away from reform school,he vowed to make other people fear him. But his restless quest for power and independence sucked him deeper and deeper into whirlpool of violence and frustration. Donald Windham (July 2, 1920 – May 31, 2010) was an American novelist and memoirist. He is perhaps best known for his close friendships with Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams. Partially because Windham was influenced by his own life, homosexuality is one of many themes treated in his work. The Dog Star is his first novel. SSS-32
