Original cloth-covered boards with rebacked brown cloth spine and title paste-on. Foxing to prelims and a little inside, rear cover slightly warped, edges worn, a little evidence of bookworms. VG. Howes 357. The harshest critic of the Jacksonian period, who decided that the land of the free left something to be desired.
Synopsis
Domestic Manners of the Americans is an 1832 travel book by Frances Trollope, which follows her travels through America and her residence in Cincinnati, at the time still a frontier town.
