About This Item

New York: Farrar, Strauss, Giroux, 1969. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. This book is in great condition with only some toning. Previous owner's negligible inscription on Front Endpaper. The last entry in the six volume series by Italian humorist Giovanni Guareschi, who died prematurely before it's publication. Written in the mid 1960's when the tremendous changes set in motion by Vatican ll. A wonderful book which will literally have you laughing out loud and the only book I ever read that had me nostalgic for the sixties. By the way, it's not necessary but it helps if you grew up Catholic to fully enjoy the quandries poor Don Camillo finds himself in with the "new" church.

Synopsis

Don Camillo Meets the Flower Children is the sixth in the Don Camillo series by Giovanni Guareschi, and was published in 1968. All of the Don's years of battling Fascists and Communists have left the priest unprepared for interacting with the peacenik flower children, namely, his niece Flora!
