About This Item
1902 1ed Doom King Acrisius Greek Mythology Perseus William Morris Illustrated
Acrisius was a lesser-known figure in Greek Mythology. Known primarily as the grandfather of Perseus, Acrisius was also the king of Argos. And while little has been written on King Acrisius, English author William Morris wrote a collection of classical myths and legends entitled 'The Earthly Paradise'. The story of Acrisius was included in this anthology and was published as a standalone work.
This 1902 edition of Morris' 'Doom of King Acrisius' was published in New York with impressive pseudo-erotic illustrations by Edward Burne-Jones.
