Auburn, Ca.: Auburn Journal Print. 30 pages. Some light wear to edges and a small chip to the rear cover. Smith's first collection of short stories. Inscribed by Smith to Samuel Loveman on the title page: "Dear Sam / I hope you will like / these tales of fantasy from No- / Man's Land. / As ever, / CAS / June 14th, 1933." There are also corrections to the text by Smith. An important association copy. Smith and Loveman began corresponding in 1913, years before either knew H. P. Lovecraft. They remained close for several decades, bound by their love of literature and mutual friends like George Sterling and George Kirk. . Very Good. Soft cover. 1st Edition. 1933.
