Black-and-white photographic frontispiece of Richard Brautigan, and there are four pages of black-and-white photography within the text. The author was a friend of Richard Brautigan for 18 years. When Richard Brautigan committed suicide the author decided to write this book in hopes of presenting a more positive view of his friend. For, as Raymond Carver is quoted on the rear panel blurb, the book is "... Truly the best thing of ever seen written on the man. You right of him with love and affection, that's obvious, but also with a deep and clear understanding. It's really quite good ... and a cautionary tale as well." A little creasing of the book corners and there is a larger crease to the top left hand corner of the rear panel. Some age toning of the text block edges and pages. Fading to the back strip.
