Reviews

On Mar 13 2020, a reader said:
Frank Gruber takes you to several scenes in this book amidst the Civil War as a background, from the openning one of soldiers prospecting at Fort Starvation in '61, to the atrocity at Lawrence, Kansas in '63. This time was a hard time for all, and left many scars--just as war does today--and Slater swore revenge on the man left alive after what happened at Fort Starvation. "A hard hitting western adventure" the back cover of the book declares, and rightfully so, as that is the type of writing Mr. Gruber is known for--fast paced, swift justice, and gun smoke.
