[nice clean tight copy with no discernible wear (a review copy, with publisher's slip laid in); the jacket has been slightly insect-nibbled at various points along the top and bottom edges]. (B&W photographs) The Woodman's early theatrical success (and technically his first published book), filmed in 1969 with Jackie Gleason taking over the role played by Lou Jacobi on the stage, as head of an American family trapped behind the Iron Curtain, in an unnamed "Middle-European" country. .
