London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1937 Book. Illus. by Simpson, Joseph. Very Good. Hardcover. Stated First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Original red cloth over boards with gilt lettering. Unclipped cream pictorical dustjacket has illustration of man playing drum on cover. Dustjacket has doodling in pencil on front, has edgewear, and several tears, including a 2" long piece missing from the top rear edge. Foxing. Despite the book stating "First Printed November 1937", the dustjacket blurb states that the wrapper and illustrations were drawn from scenes from the 1938 movie directed by Zoltan Korda. Set on the Northwest Frontier of British India, a young prince uses his drum to warn the British troops of danger from an evil prince they are staying with. 122 pp..
