Boston, MA: Little, Brown & Company. Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket. 1936. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Hardcover with dustjacket, this copy with the second state jacket featuring the wraparound color painting by Stefan Salter, copyright page states "Announced May, 1936 Published July, 1936." The blue cloth is faded on the spine and on the top edge and the former owner's bookplate is present on the half-title page, the binding is tight and clean and the contents are fine, the double-page end-paper maps are in nice shape with just a bit of tanning along the hinges, the jacket has some wear at the corners and along the spine-folds, the spine is tanned and also has several scuff-marks, front and rear panels are very nice with just a hint of tanning, the original price (2.50) is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included .

Walter D. Edmonds was a bestselling American author, a National Book Award winner, and recipient of the Newbery Medal. He published over 30 books in his lifetime, and was most popular for his historical novels. He died in 1998.
