About This Item
Charles Scribner's Sons, 1955. Hard. Very Good. Tenth (J) printing of this classic -- signed by both Kahl and Lee Deadrick -- editor at Charles Scribner's -- on the title page. Solid, clean pictorial cloth -- Scribner's sturdy library binding. Not a former library book. Near Fine price-clipped jacket. **Included is a typed letter dated Oct. 20 1954 from Alice (presumably Alice Dalgliesh, founder of Scribner's Children's Book Division). It details the guaranteed 15,000 printing of the Junior Literary Guild's book club edition. Interesting notation regarding ""Wolfgang"" which the Lit Guild ""snooted"" and ends with ""Congratulations. We think you are a joy and a delight, and await you (sic) next book with eagerness.""
