Boldly Inscribed on the Title page: "Love Pearly Bailey"

Pearl Bailey (1918-1990) was an American actress and singer renowned for her sultry voice, charismatic personality, and performances on stage and screen.
She gained prominence in the 1940s and 1950s, appearing in Broadway productions like "St. Louis Woman" and "Hello, Dolly!" Her performance in the latter earned her a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 1968.

In addition to her work on Broadway, Pearl Bailey starred in movies such as "Carmen Jones" (1954) and "Porgy and Bess" (1959). She was known for her distinctive husky voice and unique style that blended jazz, blues, and pop music.
She published several books, including autobiographies and cookbooks.
