London: Constable, 1935. In his first appearance, Chief Inspector Poole investigates the mysterious death of a banker. Fourth printing, first published in 1929. Bumped and rubbed with wear at the spine ends. Rear hinge cracked, spine a bit cocked. Foxing to the edges of the text block and throughout the text. Jacket rubbed and tanned with chips and tears, including a 3" tear up the lower front spine fold and across the spine. Loss to the head of the darkened spine, taking part of the title, with a small piece of clear tape. All held together in Brodart.. Hard Cover. Good/Fair.
