Cover corners are bumped and rubbed, edges and joints rubbed. Spine ends are bent, fraying with small tears. Scuffing to cover faces. Gilt top page edge. Previous owner's plate on front inside cover. Volume I back hinge broken. Loose hinges in Volume II. Interior is clean. Volume I has some staining from newspaper clippings within text. Books are Good+ to VG-.. Cloth. Good+ to VG-. Size: Approx. 5 " x 8 ". American History.
Synopsis
This is Volume 1 (I haven't seen Volume 2 online yet). Fiske tells a delightful and informative series of stories and provides authoritative historical framework, for the development of New York. Volume 1 deals almost entirely with Dutch lore. Highly recommended for anyone with interest in New York.
