Novel concerning the interconnected lives of four Londoners in post-Second World War Britain by the Nobel Prize-winning playwright, originally written between 1952 and 1956, and revised just prior to publication; also the basis for the short play of the same title (see Pinter's introductory note); dedicated to Judy Daish.
