Chicago: Goodheart-Willcox Company, 1928. Large Octavo. 372p. index. Dyke's earlier publications were devoted to automobile engines with a 40 page chapters entitled "Airplane Supplement" but after Lindbergh, Commander Byrd and Chamberlin's transoceanic flights everyone interested in aviation from builders and enthusiasts to the general public wanted access to the technical information. Here the publishers have dealt with aircraft gasoline engines and their accessories. Details of the Curtis, Wright "Whirlwinds", Packard, Wasp and Fairchild-Caminez airplane engines. Color foldout insert for the Wright "Whirlwind" Bound in flexible black cloth covers lettered in a pale green (fading), previous owner's name, light wear to edges and corners.
