Raised bands. Top edge gilt. Frontispiece. Decorative title page. Splendidly illustrated throughout with 226 b/w reproductions of drawings of various types, this work is a detailed and authoritative biography on the German-Jewish Art-Nouveau illustrator and printmaker Ephraim Moses Lilien (1874-1925). Particularly noted for his art on Jewish and Zionist themes, Lilien is sometimes called the "first Zionist artist." Some rubbing to covers and along edges of binding. Head and tail of spine partly chipped. Text in German. Binding in overall fair to good-, interior in very good condition.
