Colour illustrated dustwrapper, By Barry Glynn, with dark red and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A mixture of historical truth and writer's licence, this is the story of group of German paratroopers dropped into England to abduct Winston Churchill from the country house that he was due to spend the weekend in 1943. Softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the other book edges. Cocking of the spine and there is age toning of the text block edges and pages. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. There is a 2 inch tear to the lower right-hand corner of the rear panel. Rubbing and marking of the dustwrapper with quite noticeable handling marks to the rear panel stop foxing to the verso. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 352 pages,. Synopsis

The Eagle Has Landed is a book by Jack Higgins set during World War II. It first published in 1975. It was made into a film of the same name in 1976 starring Michael Caine. The plot has some similarities with that of Went the Day Well?, a film made during World War II itself. The book is still in print, being reissued in New York by Berkley Books in 2000 with ISBN 0-425-17718-1.
