Recent research on the late Pleistocene of northwester North America has a considerable bearing on the study of early man in America. The first part of this paper deals with late glacial chronology and the implications of this chronology from the study of early man throughout America; the second part is an attempt at a synthesis of the early man problem in the light of the hypotheses presented in the first. A somewhat more detailed exposition of the evidence for the glacial chronology presented here is to be published elsewhere. Condition: Corners bumped, light edge wear else very good.
